The New York Mets announced Wednesday that left-hander Jose Quintana will start Opening Day against the Milwaukee Brewers on March 28 at Citi Field.
The decision comes after ace Kodai Senga suffered a right shoulder injury in late February.
Quintana, 35, last started on Opening Day in 2017 as a member of the Chicago White Sox.
The veteran lefty posted a 3.57 ERA over 75.2 innings in 2023, his first season with the Mets.
