STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you need a gallon of milk or some other morning essentials before the school and work rush, Walmart will now deliver the goods to your doorstep as early as 6 a.m. The mega retailer — which already offers same-day and late-night delivery services — has launched an express, on-demand early morning delivery program.
The service will supply shoppers with food, baby needs, work attire and more โ and some goods will be dropped off in as little as 30 minutes.
โIn the fast pace of modern life, time is our most precious asset. Walmart understands this deeply and is committed to making life easier for our customers,โ Walmart said in a statement. โStarting at 6 a.m., earlier than ever before, customers can enjoy the convenience of On-Demand Delivery. This expanded timing offers them peace of mind knowing they can get things they need at their doorstep to kickstart the day.โ
Orders can be placed through the companyโs website or app, and members of Walmart+ — the retailerโs paid shopping program — will receive standard delivery for free. A $10 express fee will be applied to all orders, Axios reported.
The launch of this program comes six months after Walmart expanded its Express Delivery until 10 p.m. on orders placed by 9:30 p.m. Express Delivery allows customers to receive items between 30 and 90 minutes from the time they are ordered.
Walmart also offers On-Demand Delivery for same-day service so customers can select their own time.
