A Park Slope man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting two teenage girls in his apartment after giving them drugs in Aug. 2020, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
“Brooklyn is safer with this defendant behind bars,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said following the March 13 sentencing of Christopher Chabrier, 40, who was found guilty following a jury trial on Feb. 13.
“With today’s sentence, this defendant, who preyed on two young girls, offering them drugs and subjecting them to sexual assault, has now been held accountable,” said Gonzalez. “I remain committed to seeking justice for all victims of sexual violence and to protecting children and teens from predators who are intent on exploiting them.”
According to the DA’s office, Chabrier first approached the victims, who were 14 and 15 years old, at a park in Carroll Gardens on Aug. 30, 2020. During the initial meeting, Chabrier gave the girls what he told them was MDMA, Xanax, cocaine and marijuana.
Later that day, the victims and a friend smoked marijuana inside the Chabrier’s car, after which he gave each of the teens $20 before they exited the vehicle.
The following day, Aug. 31, Chabrier picked the girls up near Carroll Park and drove them to his apartment on Jackson Place in Park Slope. Once inside, he again gave the teens what he told them was MDMA, cocaine, and marijuana.
The victims said that after taking the drugs, they both began to feel dizzy. One of the victims said she was so affected that she was unable to stand and began to crawl. It was at this point that Chabrier subjected both girls to various sexual acts, resulting in injuries to one of the victims.
When the girls left the apartment, Chabrier gave one of them $200 and the other $100.
