KINGSTON – A 34-year-old man from Rosendale was sentenced to five years in state prison for raping a 12-year-old girl in August 2023. Danny Wiebke Jr. will also spend 60 days in the Ulster County Jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor criminal contempt.
Wiebke pled guilty to criminal contempt in July of 2023 after violating an order of protection issued against him in favor of his wife. In August of 2023, while awaiting sentence on his criminal contempt charge, he was found naked in bed with a 12-year-old girl. The parents of the child victim spoke at sentencing, saying “Our bright, beautiful child full of promise now must endure the weight of this repulsive crime against her in almost every aspect of her life. This monster violated our family, the community, and every moral standard. He is a disgrace to himself and the community at large, like a cancerous part that should be excised.”
District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji chastised the child-rapist, saying “I am disgusted, and I find Danny Wiebke’s criminal arrogance to be revolting.
