The vision, brought forward by Hart Lyman Companies in collaboration with Conifer Realty, envisions a mixed-use development encompassing housing, dining, and office spaces designed to foster a vibrant, community-centric environment.
The ambitious project, with an investment exceeding $1 billion, aims to introduce a walkable town center, an entertainment district, a health and wellness campus, and a top-tier residential community. This initiative is not just a facelift for the mall but a strategic move to address the housing shortage in Central New York, promising to add between 300-500 new homes in several clusters.
Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon and others see the redevelopment as a catalyst for growth, especially in light of Micron’s arrival in Clay, expected to draw thousands of workers. The plan includes over 600,000 square feet of retail and community space, more than 790,000 square feet for medical and office use, and over 750 hotel rooms, aiming to knit together a self-sufficient, interconnected community. Construction could start as early as the end of this year, marking a significant milestone in Clay’s development.
