Tune in to see “America’s Backyard Gold” set to premiere at 9 p.m. Friday, March 15 on the Discovery Channel.
Dave Turin, of ‘Gold Rush’ fame stars in the show.
According to a story on Oregonlive.com by Kristi Turnquist, Turin will travel around the country, meeting up with individuals who are interested in gold prospecting. And he’ll demonstrate how even ordinary people can search for gold even if they don’t have pricey equipment in the process.
The story also describes in the first episode, the way in which Turin ventures to Northern California and other interesting spots connected to the California gold rush of the 1800s.
Throughout his journey, Turin stumbles across a vast array of people including former white-collar professionals who traded desk jobs for the outdoor life in search for gold — as well as a couple who use simple methods to search for enough gold to pay for their bills.
