STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — These twins can often finish each other’s expletive-filled sentences.
If you grew up in an Italian-American household on Staten Island, then you’ve probably shared a video amongst friends created by Nicky and Jojo Scarlotta.
The twins, 25, of Tottenville, joined the Advance/SILive.com for an exclusive interview inside Ciro’s Cafe, located just minutes from their home.
These brothers say they never would have dreamed that their sense of humor would’ve landed them millions of followers across their social media channels.
“It all really started during the pandemic,” Jojo said. “I started putting out videos by myself and they started taking off.”

Nicky Scarlotta says it wasn’t until around eight months to a year of seeing his brother’s successes that inspired him to go all in as a content creator.
“Jojo got me and my dad going on his videos a little and then I started my own videos,” Nicky said. “I had one video I did with a baseball team blow up and now we’re both doing this full time.”
The homegrown Staten Islanders, who still reside here, say their signature personas were created from experiences they had growing up around their family.

Sometimes, the twins are doing an endearing depiction of their father, sometimes their uncle and sometimes it’s just a “Staten Island guy.”
“When people talk to us like this, they’re surprised we’re not ramped up twenty-four seven,” Nicky said.
“We’re really just playing versions of our uncle and my father,” Jojo added….
