Pamela A. Robinson, 47, from Williamson, was arrested on March 8 facing serious charges of arson and insurance fraud. The arrest came after a suspicious fire destroyed her apartment in the Village of Sodus, where she lived after insuring her belongings for a significantly large sum.
Robinson, who initially bought a vehicle and renter’s insurance at a dealership in Sodus, rapidly increased her renter’s insurance coverage from $50,000 to $200,000. Shortly before the fire at her Nakissa Drive apartment, witnesses saw her moving personal items and a fish tank out of the residence, raising suspicions about the blaze’s cause.
Following an investigation by the New York State Department of Financial Services and State Police, Robinson was indicted by a Wayne County Grand Jury. She now faces charges of third-degree arson and second-degree insurance fraud, both felonies, involving amounts exceeding $50,000. After her arraignment in CAP Court, Robinson was released to await further court proceedings.
