The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on a personal injury crash that happened around 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of State Route 332 and County Road 28.
Deputies say they responded along with other first responders after receiving a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.
Investigation found that Irene Stephens, 59, of Canandaigua was walking across County Road 28 when a vehicle operated by Sandra Packard, 55, of Farmington, was making a left turn from State Route 332 and struck her.
She was hospitalized at Strong Memorial with non life threatening injuries, deputies said.
An investigation utilizing video footage determined the pedestrian was at fault, by proceeding across the crosswalk even though a sign said not to at that time.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene. The pedestrian was ticketed.
