Cayuga Health announced the upcoming opening of three new medical facilities within a single building at the Ithaca Mall, set to enhance healthcare access in the region. The expansive space, exceeding the size of a football field, will house heart and vascular, primary care, and rheumatology services starting next month. The heart and vascular center is scheduled to open on March 25, moving from its previous locations on Triphammer Road and downtown Ithaca.
Following on April 8, the Cayuga Primary Care and Cayuga Rheumatology facilities will commence operations, transitioning from Brentwood Drive, Trumansburg Road, and Community Corners in Cayuga Heights, respectively. This consolidation aims to simplify patient care by bringing various healthcare services together in a central location.
Jeff Penoyer, Vice President of Ambulatory Services and COO of Cayuga Medical Associates, highlighted the benefits of this integration, including improved patient experience and enhanced provider-patient relationships. The facility’s strategic location at the Ithaca Mall, complete with a TCAT bus stop at the entrance and an onsite laboratory, is expected to offer unprecedented convenience and efficiency for patients.
