The man behind the murder of Samyia Spain in Brooklyn reportedly turned himself in to police custody on Friday.
Veo Kelly, 20, allegedly stabbed Spain to death outside of Natural Plus deli, located at 77 4th Avenue in Park Slope at around 1:30 a.m. on March 17 after she and her twin sister refused his advances.
Police say that the sisters frequented the deli during late nights and early hours to get food. Kelly allegedly left a party nearby and ran into the twins, later becoming angry when they wouldn’t give him their contact information. Kelly then allegedly stabbed Spain to death outside the bodega.
Video recovered from the store allegedly showed the interaction between Kelly, Spain and her sister. Police searched Kelly’s home on March 20, where they allegedly recovered the clothing he wore that night.
Kelly turned himself in to the 78th Precinct station house on the morning of March 22. Spain’s family was seen at the perp walk, shouting at Kelly as he was taken away, “You deserve to rot, you really going to find out what the answer ‘no’ means you b—h a– n—-a. I hate you.”
Kelly was charged with murder, assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
