Ongoing construction at the Queensboro Plaza subway station in Long Island City will again temporarily suspend 7 and N train service between Manhattan and Queens โ€” this time on the first weekend in April โ€” the MTA said Friday.

There will be no 7 or N service between Queens and Manhattan from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, April 6 to 4:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, according to the transit authority. The service changes are being made to accommodate work on accessibility upgrades at Queensboro Plaza, including new elevators, ADA-compliant boarding areas and other features, and modified pedestrian bridges.

The MTA said trains on the 7 line wonโ€™t run between the 74th Street-Broadway and Times Square-42nd Street stops. Meanwhile, N trains wonโ€™t run between 39th Avenue-Dutch Kills and 57 Street-7th Avenue stops.

For those looking to travel between Manhattan and Queens that weekend, the MTA is encouraging riders to use LIRR service โ€” at no extra cost โ€” between Flushing, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, and Penn Station or Grand Central.

Straphangers can also transfer to the E, F or R trains at the 74 Street-Broadway stop to cross the East River, as the MTA plans to run additional service on those lines.

In Queens, free shuttle buses will run in two sections, the transit authority said: the Q107 between 74 Street-Broadway and Queens Plaza, making local 7 stops, and the Q93 between Queens Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue.

Work at the Queensboro Plaza station began in September 2022 and is expected to continue through this September. The MTA said to anticipate more weekend service changes until then.
