STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island University Hospital will welcome patients for the first time Monday to its new three-story Florina Cancer Center, a centralized, state-of-the-art oncology center featuring a child-focused pediatric cancer facility with family-centered amenities.
On the first day of operations in the Ocean Breeze facility, part of Northwell Health, about 150 patients will be treated at the center, and all will receive welcome gifts. Patients going forward will also enjoy a concierge service to get them headed in the right direction, said Dr. Laura Longo, senior director of operations for SIUH and the administrator for the Florina Cancer Center.
