STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Mega Millions jackpot has been steadily growing since it was last won in December, reaching $900 million before Friday night’s drawing.
However, no ticket matched all six numbers on Friday — which were the white balls 3, 8, 31, 35, 44, plus the gold ball 16. As of result, the upcoming Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday has soared beyond the billion-dollar frontier to $1.1 billion, according to Mega Millions’ website. This is the sixth time in under six years that it has eclipsed the billion-dollar mark.
