STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A beloved, century-old statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has been restored on the grounds of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in West Brighton, almost five months after its hands were removed in an act of vandalism.
The restoration was made possible by a team led by Duanne Kempton and comprised of Patrick Smith, Richard Aricprete and Brandon Pak. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation provided “crucial support” for the restoration project.
