A total solar eclipse is just two weeks away, with the path of totality set to pass over Upstate New York for the first time in 99 years, and the region is abuzz with activity as communities plan for a huge influx of sky-gazers on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Officials in the Buffalo area are preparing for as many as one million tourists in the region, and thatโs just one of the dozens of cities and towns that will be in the path of totality, including Alexandria Bay, Batavia, Cheektowaga, Rochester and Saranac Lake.

Reservations at hotels in the region began filling up months ago, but for travelers planning to visit Upstate New York to see the eclipse last-minute, thereโs good news.
