Calling all lovebirds — the first annual Brooklyn Wedding Fair is coming to Gowanus this weekend.
The event, billed a “unique boutique experience” by organizers, aims to serve as an essential resource for couples at any stage of their wedding planning journey, connecting attendees to a handpicked selection of Brooklyn-based vendors — from bespoke wedding planners to custom gown designers and more.
Curators Alessandro Spreafico and Olga Kochanova, founders of Brooklyn Dance Lessons, promise a departure from traditional wedding expos and a focus on quality over quantity.
“In Brooklyn, authenticity and personal touch are paramount,” Spreafico said in a statement. “By featuring a limited number of vendors, we ensure that couples can genuinely connect with each one, making the planning process a reflection of the unique offerings each vendor brings, rather than a mere checklist.”
Spreafico and Kochanova say they were inspired by the beloved Wedding Crashers Fair, hosted for more than a decade at The Green Building in Gowanus, and at Basilica Hudson in Hudson, New York. Wedding Crashers’ last expo was in 2022.
“The extraordinary work by Founders Ashley and Nicole left a significant void with their hiatus, and we’re dedicated to replicating that cozy, unique experience,” Spreafico said. “Our Gowanus dance boutiques offer the perfect backdrop for an intimate and immersive wedding fair.”
Kochanova says she hopes couples leave the Brooklyn Wedding Fair feeling “empowered.”
“Our commitment to providing a five-star experience through our dance instruction extends seamlessly to the Brooklyn Wedding Fair,” she said in a statement. “We wanted every couple to leave feeling empowered and ready to embark on their wedding journey.”
