Manchester City cruised to a 6-2 aggregate victory over Copenhagen in the Round of 16 with back-to-back 3-1 performances. Real Madrid just narrowly advanced thanks to a 2-1 aggregate score after a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig in leg 2 of their Round of 16 clash.
Now the recent rivals are set to clash in the quarterfinal, where Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola’s sides will square off during the knockout rounds for the third season in a row. City has injury concerns at full back with Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol all picking up injuries in recent games. The rematch everyone is looking forward to, however, will be City striker Erling Haaland vs. Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger. Last time these teams played resulted in a 1-1 draw, largely thanks to Rüdiger’s ability to stall Haaland throughout the match.
