Otsego County’s 55 coaches earned an average salary of $29,879 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 23rd lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at New York post-secondary schools during 2022.

Otsego County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, SUNY Oneonta stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $37,173.

Male coaches of men’s teams received $33,687 on average in Otsego County, while female coaches in charge of women’s teams earned an average of $29,933.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
