The Fourth of July marks the annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island in Brooklyn. Crazy Legs Conti has been a competitive eater for 23 years, appeared in 16 out of the past 23 hot dog eating competitions at Coney Island and has broken several world records in the buffet foods categories. He joined WNYC host Janae Pierre to describe what it’s like to compete, which competitors he’s keeping his eyes on this year, and how he helps the hotdogs go down easier by dunking the buns in Tang.
