The PSAL Cross Country season got rolling as 705 student-athletes took to the hills of Van Cortlandt Park last week.
The Flying Dragons of the High School for Math, Science and Engineering at CCNY โ boys and girls โ made some timely statements by capturing the Group Run team titles. The young women of Math, Science and Engineering ran a team average of 23:01 and were led by strong performances from Phoebe Estep, 21:49 and Bo Bernard, 22:47.
The young men of Math, Science and Engineering were led by Henry Dahl, 18:06 and Brendan Hofmann, 18:13. Two young freshmen runners turned in good performances in the 1.5m run โ Aisha Wajid โ DeWitt Clinton, 10:16; and Colin Toung โ Manhattan Center, 9:17.

The PSAL Borough Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday, October 26th at Van Cortlandt Park.

Speaking of cross country, Pratt Instituteโs womenโs team placed three runners in the top 20 and took home the team title at the Queensborough CC Invitational, Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park โ the men placed 12th overall.
In her first collegiate meet, Ela Segrave-Daly posted a time of 21:53.8 on the 5-kilometer course to lead the Cannoneers and take fifth overall. Giovanna Lisa crossed in 23:16 in 13th place and Sarah Cawley rounded out the three medalists in 17th place finishing in 23:54.3. Leona Bergin was 26th…
