With early voting starting this weekend and General Election Day mere weeks away, the Brooklyn Democratic Party “is laser-focused on getting every single Democrats’ vote counted and voice heard,” says Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn.
“With the most consequential Presidential election in our lifetime” approaching, Brooklyn Dems have been hitting rubber to the road, from Long Island to Pennsylvania, to garner Dem votes on their “Road to Victory Bus Tour.”
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck-and-neck in “purple” states like Pennsylvania that will likely decide our next president, drawing New York and the Brooklyn Dems to send support beyond their borders. Alongside the bus trips, big-name Brooklyn electeds like Democratic House Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries delivered stump speeches in Pennsylvania, while Kathy Hochul joined fellow governors to GOTV there.
Since September, Saturday bus trips have brought party district leaders and enthused volunteers from all walks of life to get out the vote in Pennsylvania, Long Island and the Hudson Valley.
“To say every vote matters is a big understatement,” Bichotte Hermelyn said, commenting not just on Brooklyn, but across the nation. A national poll tracker has Vice President Harris roughly 2 percentage points ahead of Trump.
