Goodwill finding
You never know what treasures might surface on Goodwill of Western New York’s auction website.
Recently, it was a video game released decades ago that touched off a bidding frenzy.
Goodwill reported that a “Little Samson” cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System fetched a winning auction bid of $5,001.
Goodwill said the game was released in 1992 in limited quantities and is “a vintage title that is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.”
The sale took place on ShopGoodwill.com, where Goodwill organizations around the country list unique and high-value items.
Goodwill said the cartridge generated a flurry of bids as soon is it went live on the site. The organization reported the copy it sold was in excellent condition, with its original box and manual, which contributed to the high final bid.
“This sale not only highlights the incredible finds that can be discovered through our stores and online auctions but also supports our mission of providing job training and employment services in the community,” said David Teter, senior manager of e-commerce for Goodwill of Western New York.
Now if only that Pac-Man cartridge for the Atari 2006 were as valuable …
