Mets get swept by Brewers on walk-off home run

It has been a rough few days for the New York Mets, and things did not get any better on Wednesday afternoon as they were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Adam Ottavino gave up a walk-off solo home run to Garrett Mitchell, and the Brewers picked up a 7-6 victory.

Pete Alonso crushed a pair of two-run homers to lead the offense. Francisco Lindor also had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI double and an RBI single.

David Peterson made his second start of the season and surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings while walking five and striking out five.

The Mets will try to get back in the win column on Thursday when they begin a three-game series with the Miami Marlins at Citi Field. Tylor Megill will get the ball for the home opener. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
