The girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries in midnight shooting on Colonie Street. Police said they do not yet know the location or circumstances of the shooting
ALBANY – A 3-year-old girl was shot early Tuesday on Colonie Street, police said.
The child’s injury is not considered life-threatening, said Officer Steve Smith, a police department spokesman. The girl received hospital care.
Smith said emergency medical workers were summoned to Colonie Street at about midnight. The location was on a block not far from Northern Boulevard.
He said investigators have received conflicting information at the scene about the “location and circumstances surrounding the little girl’s injury.”
NewsChannel 13 was the first to report on the shooting.
“Right now we’re continuing our investigation to determine the location and circumstances,” he continued.
The child’s medical condition was not available Tuesday afternoon.
No arrests have been reported.
