Syracuse football’s Dakota Davis named to National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse football offensive lineman Dakota Davis was one of 1,734 players named to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, NFF announced Wednesday.

Requirements for membership include being a senior player without remaining eligibility or a graduated player, having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and being a starter or significant contributor in the most recent season.

Davis, who is enrolled in Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, was a five-time member of the ACC honor roll. He made the Syracuse Athletic Director’s honor roll in each of the past eight semesters.

In the fall, Davis was a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, which honors the college football player with the most outstanding resume of academics, community service and on-field performance.

Davis made 37 starts for the Orange across 52 appearances from 2017-2022. He started all 13 games in his final season.

This is the 17th year of the Hampshire Honor Society. The number of new members is a record, and 43 of them are from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
