POTSDAM — A junior attending SUNY Potsdam has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship as part of the Live Mas Scholarship fund from the Taco Bell Foundation.
Bryce Vaisey, an employee at the Potsdam Taco Bell, was surprised with the award today, April 14, while working his shift.
Vaisey is currently studying psychology and criminal justice at SUNY Potsdam.
Vaisey said he hopes to use his education “to help pursue their passion of helping others who struggle with social injustice, housing, and healthcare.”
According to a press release from the foundation, over 18,000 Taco Bell employees across the nation applied for the Live Mas Scholarship.
Applicants were required to submit a two-minute video that “showcased their passion and how they are going to use that passion to make a positive change in the community.”
Vaisey was one of 1,000 employees chosen to receive a scholarship, which ranged from $5,000 to $25,000, according to a press release.
