Trial begins for Staten Island NYPD officer accused of possessing child pornography

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The trial of an NYPD officer from Bay Terrace accused of buying illicit images of minors and who allegedly had several hundred photos of child pornography on his computer began Tuesday in Brooklyn federal court.

Timothy Martinez, 43, is facing charges of possession of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and two counts of exploitation.
