Annie Scherer, a Voorheesville native, placed second in Music City Mayhem, an emerging artist competition hosted by Nashville radio station Lightning 100.
The indie-pop musician was one of 32 artists selected to compete in the month-long contest for a grand prize valued at $9,728. Scherer made it to the live finale where she faced off against Nite Tides, Multi Ultra, Majeska and wild card finalist KJ Wild.
Fans were able to vote in-person and online during the event. Indie-rock band Multi Ultra took the crown with Scherer named runner-up. She won a $200 gift card to Gruhn Guitars, a vintage guitar store based in Nashville.
