ALBANY – A Granville man admitted in court that he stole 32 firearms from Calamity Jane’s Firearms and Fine Shoes in Hudson Falls and bartered most of the guns for cocaine, federal authorities said this week.
Jonathon Combs, 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft of firearms from a licensed dealer and to using firearms during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The charges are felonies.
He pleaded guilty to thefts occurring on two dates in October. On the second date he and a co-conspirator used a sledgehammer to break into Calamity Jane’s while it was closed, prosecutors said. He stole 31 semi-automatic pistols on that occasion, he admitted in his guilty plea.
Two other people, ages 32 and 48, are also facing charges in the case.
Combs faces a minimum of five years in prison, with a maximum of life in prison, as well as a $250,000 fine.
