Another day, more injury news for the New York Yankees.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters Tuesday that relief pitcher Lou Trivino, who was placed on the injured list before the season started with a right elbow strain, will undergo Tommy John surgery after receiving multiple medical opinions.
New York acquired Trivino in a trade with the Oakland Athletics last August. The 31-year-old posted a 1.66 ERA over 21 2/3 innings with the Bronx Bombers.
The Yankees bullpen is already without Tommy Kahnle, Jonathan Loรกisiga, and Scott Effross.
