POTSDAM — A multi-agency search is underway in Potsdam to find a missing Clarkson student who reportedly jumped off the Fall Island Bridge.
A section of Maple Street, including the bridge remains closed to traffic.
Potsdam Police are leading the effort with assistance from Canton, Massena, Parishville, Hannawa Falls, Akwesasne, St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s and New York State Police, Park Rangers rescue and law enforcement agencies.
Details are limited at this time but Potsdam Police Lt. Michael Ames said the student was reported to have jumped into the river from the bridge around 2 a.m. The student was believed to be around age 23.
