Three people died when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree and burst into flames on the service road of a Brooklyn expressway Sunday morning, police said.
The driver crashed on Fourth Ave. at Shore Road Drive, just off the Belt Parkway and near Leif Ericson Park in Bay Ridge, about 7:45 a.m., cops said. The car caught on fire after the impact, killing two women and a man inside. Cops were working to identify them.
A fourth occupant of the vehicle, a man, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition, cops said.
