Boyfriend charged in woman’s shooting death inside their Brooklyn apartment – New York Daily News

The live-in boyfriend of a woman shot to death in their Brooklyn apartment has been arrested for her murder, police said Monday.

Peter Hibbert was charged Monday with murder and weapon possession for allegedly killing 49-year-old Jacqueline Wilson inside their home on E. 96th St. in East Flatbush just before 3 a.m. Sunday.

Neighbors were shocked at the slaying but a law enforcement source said there were indications of a troubled relationship.

On Feb. 23, 2021, Hibbert was busted for menacing Wilson with a scissors and threatening to kill her, the source said. He was arrested but the case was later sealed.

Another woman inside the home called 911 Sunday. Wilson, shot in the head, torso and leg, was rushed by medics to Brookdale University Hospital but could not be saved.

Hibbert was found in the basement of the multi-family home with a cut on his arm that was treated at Kings County Hospital. The gun used to shoot Hibbert was found in her bedroom, police said.

The victim lived with her 29-year-old daughter and a grandchild, according to one neighbor, who declined to give his name.

“She was my friend,” the neighbor said. “[She] always goes to work.”

“She’s a happy type of person,” he added. “This kind of messed me up.”

The boyfriend came into her life about two years ago, he said.

“I ain’t never seen him before until recently,” the neighbor recalled. “He don’t talk much but everywhere [she] goes, he goes. … You can see he was leaning on her for things.

“I didn’t see him abuse her or nothing like that,” he added. “This is kind of strange.”

Hibbert’s arraignment was pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court Monday.
