There was food abound at the opening day of the Bronx Night Market’s sixth season on Saturday, May 6. One of the many markets and street fairs presented by the Mascho Hospitality Group. Dozens of vendors from all over New York City came to sell their soaps, jewelry, apparel, drinks and foods, including Filipino-owned, Lechonbae, which specializes in whole roast pig. “Nobody else brings out the lechon in the streets,” said owner Archie Cancio. “And the first in the world for a special recipe: lechon gyro. I invented that one. You can google it.”
