Deputies report the arrest of a Painted Post man following a stabbing in the town of Erwin.
According to a news release, Eric Powers, 35, stabbed another person while in an altercation with them causing serious injury. The stabbing happened in February.
The victim survived. However, deputies say Powers was charged with first-degree assault.
He was arraigned and remanded to custody without bail due to being a fugitive from the state of Virginia.
