LIBERTY – A 24-year-old Liberty man has been remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail after he allegedly stabbing a woman in the back several times.
The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday on North Street. EMTs also reported she sustained a laceration to her neck.
A knife used in the assault was recovered.The victim was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla whe she was treated for her injuries.
Within minutes of the attack, Liberty Police located the suspect, Jesse Rubio, on Lincoln Place; he was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
He also stole a phone belonging to the victim.
Rubio was charged with attempted murder, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
