Police investigate report of body in Seneca River near Baldwinsville cemetery; ME now on scene

Baldwinsville, NY – Police officers are investigating a report of a body in the Seneca River in Baldwinsville Saturday morning.

At about 9:30 a.m., a person called 911 and reported they thought they had seen a body in the river near Riverview Cemetery, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center.

Firefighters arrived and reported it could be a body. A water rescue was requested by dispatchers.

At about 11 a.m., an Onondaga County Medical Examinerโ€™s Office vehicle arrived on the scene. A person on the scene could be seen putting on a wet suit.

The Baldwinsville police responded as well as the State Police and Onondaga County Sheriffโ€™s Office. A fire engine was seen leaving and an ambulance is on scene.

Police have taped off part of the cemetery with crime tape.

The cemetery is at 70 Tappan St.
