After almost four hours of waiting due to a rain delay, Major League Baseball suspended Saturday’s game between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals in DC.
Umpires suspended play in the top of the third inning with the Nationals leading 1-0. The teams sat through a three-hour, 43-minute rain delay before the decision was made to suspend the game.
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday. The continuation of Game 1 will be played at 12:35, while Game 2 will begin at 4:35 p.m.
