One man died and an 8-year-old child was among two people wounded during a shooting at a Albany, N.Y. barber shop on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The lone fatality was confirmed to be a 47-year-old man shot in the torso and shoulder, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“It appears an unknown suspect, who was outside, fired rounds towards the building, striking three individuals who were inside,” said Steve Smith, the Albany police public information officer.
A second male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the foot. He was being treated “for non-life threatening injuries,” said Smith.
“A child, male, sustained a non-life threatening graze wound to his torso,” Smith added.
According to the local CBS affiliate, the young victim is an 8-year-old child.
