A Brooklyn man on probation in a gun case died a day after he was found by his wife shot in the head outside their apartment door, police said Monday,
Durell Falero, 43, died at Kings County Hospital Friday.
About 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Falero was shot in the first-floor hallway of his apartment building on Sterling Place near Rochester Ave. in Crown Heights, cops said. His wife found him mortally wounded and medics rushed him to the hospital.
There was no immediate description of the shooter or what sparked the gunfire but cops are investigating if Faleroโs recent past was a factor.
On March 11, 2020, Falero was arrested, along with a 45-year-old woman, when police executed a search warrant in his apartment in the building where he was later shot and found guns and ammunition, police said.
The case was later adjudicated and Falero was on probation until November 2027.
