Geddes, N.Y.– A man has died after his car went off Interstate 690 West and struck a pickup truck in Geddes, troopers said.
Timothy J. Woodward, 71, was driving a 2021 Nissan around 2:13 p.m. west on the highway near Exit 7 when it went off the road and down an embankment and collided with a 2019 Ford pickup, said Trooper Jack Keller, a state police spokesperson.
Woodward’s vehicle came to a stop after rolling over and going into a ditch on State Fair Boulevard, Keller said.
He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was in critical condition, he said. Friday morning troopers announced he had died from his injuries.
The truck, driven by Christopher Buske, 27, of Liverpool, was stopped at a red light at State Fair Boulevard and the Exit 7 ramp when his truck was hit, Keller said.
Buske was taken to Crouse Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
The crash closed the exit ramp for about six hours.
