ALBANY — A 14-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle on Washington Avenue Thursday afternoon suffered serious injuries which do not appear to be life-threatening, Albany Police Officer Steve Smith tweeted.
The young man is being treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
The collision occurred on Washington Avenue between North Main Avenue and Partridge Street. The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and has been cooperative with police, Smith said. The incident happened sometime before 4 p.m.
The investigation remains ongoing and Washington Avenue between North Main Avenue and Partridge Street will remain closed for several hours while investigators are at the scene, Smith said.
An alert sent to Albany High School parents said a student at the school was hit in front of the school at dismissal time.
