NISKAYUNA — A body found in the Mohawk River belongs to a man reported missing earlier this week, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a release Friday.
Gary Clemons, 63, was first reported missing Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office. He’d been last seen Monday. His vehicle had been found unoccupied near the Mohawk River where his boat is docked at the Schenectady Yacht Club in Rexford.
The following evening a body was reported floating in the water near Knolls Atomic Power Lab. Niskayuna police, sheriff’s deputies and local fire departments searched the waterway and eventually found the body.
Niskayuna police have since confirmed the body is Clemons, the sheriff’s office said in Friday’s release. An autopsy is pending, but foul play does not appear to be involved, the release said. Anyone with more information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 518-885-6761.
