STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Saturday Night Live” is on summer break.
The show’s Instagram account confirmed “SNL” has wrapped, posting a few montage clips from this season’s 18 episodes.
“SNL” ended this season a bit prematurely due to the ongoing writers strike, which forced “SNL” and several other shows to go dark for the foreseeable future. Pete Davidson was slated to host the May 6 episode of “SNL” in his glorious return to his old stomping grounds. At this time, it’s unclear whether “SNL” will invite Davidson, Culkin or Coolidge back next season (if the writers strike is even over by then).
Davidson — whose “SNL” hits include his “Weekend Update” appearances alongside fellow Staten Islander Colin Jost, and his reoccurring character Chad — was in the middle of hawking his new Peacock show, “Bupkis,” which premiered May 4, when the strike started. Eight half-hour episodes of the comedy were released on NBC’s streaming platform.
The semi-autobiographical show was spotted filming across Staten Island and other parts of New York City in 2022. In October, production took over Marina Cafe in Great Kills, and…
