Safe containing $2.5M in watches, $160K cash stolen from NYC shop

A safe containing $160,000 cash and $2.5 million worth of watches was stolen from a high-end shop on Staten Island, police said Thursday.

Five masked crooks forced their way in through an office door of The Wrist Watchers on Arthur Kill Road by the Outerbridge Crossing and made off with the safe about 10:30 p.m. Monday, cops said. The store buys and sells high-end watches.

Police released surveillance footage of the robbers, one armed with a crowbar, others with tools and a handcart. They are asking the publicโ€™s help identifying them and tracking them down.

Police released images of five people who authorities said were behind the theft of a safe containing $160,000 cash and $2.5 million worth of watches from a high-end shop on Staten Island.
