Volunteers collecting ALCOA history
Alcoa employees recently came together for an ACTION Grant to support NAPHA, the National Aluminum Production Heritage Association, an event sponsored by Alcoa Project Engineer, Kevin Kitzman. Volunteers took newspaper articles and pictures from Alcoa, mostly from the 1950’s and 1960’s, and reattached them to large books that will be scanned to become digital files. Many artifacts were also sorted and organized that have been in storage. In the picture, Casey Simonds, Alcoa Massena Facility training coordinator, is seen carefully handling historical articles and images. More of these artifacts are on display at the Celine G. Philibert Memorial Cultural Centre & Museum in Massena. Photo submitted.
