Tim Sears Jr. and Ronnie Johnson each picked up a pair of feature wins this weekend on the DIRT modified circuit.
Sears Jr. won at Brewerton on Friday and followed it up with another trip to victory lane at Fulton Saturday. Johnson was the Friday night winner at Albany-Saratoga and this second-generation standout came right back Saturday night with a feature triumph at Fonda.
Brewertonโs 35-lap, big-block feature Friday saw Sears Jr. notch a thrilling win when he passed his uncle, Tom Sears, on the fourth turn of the final lap for a $2,000 payday. Larry Wight and Chad Phelps followed Tom Sears home in third and fourth.
At Fulton Saturday, Sears racked up his 19th career triumph at this Route 57 oval, with Dave Marcuccilli and Wight trailing.
Ronnie Johnsonโs all-winning weekend started at Albany-Saratoga Speedway Friday when he led Marc Johnson and Jeremy Pitts to the checkered flag. It was his 34th A-S win.
Johnson completed his double at Fonda Saturday, when he paced Matt DeLorenzo and Alex Yankowski for his 32nd career Fonda win.
Otto Sitterly dominates ISMA/MSS wing super special at Oswego
Otto Sitterly has nine track titles and 46 feature wins in supermodified competition at Oswego and he showed why in Saturdayโs inaugural ISMA/MSS program at this lakeside oval.
With a strong field of 25 winged supers on hand, Sitterly drew the pole for the main event and went out and dominated the caution-free, 50-lap feature.
This Canajoharie pilot lapped up to the seventh-place finisher and easily pocketed the $6,000 top money from the $41,000 feature purse. It took Sitterly just thirteen minutes and twenty-six seconds to complete his winning fifty-lap run.
Canadian Mike Lichty made a strong charge from ninth in the 24-car starting field and the Interkip, Ontario driver ended up second. New Englandโs Ben Seitz was third, with Michael Muldoon and Mike Ordway Jr. filling out the top five finishers.
