Addison building getting demolished after state engineers deem it unsafe

Crews in Addison are getting ready to tear down an empty building on Main Street after it was deemed unsafe by state engineers.

As a result, traffic has been diverted around the block as a safety precaution. Several buildings on the east side of Main Street have been marked with condemned signs, according to WETM-TV, who first reported the story earlier today.

The specific building in question, located at 39 Main St., was previously occupied by Oopsie Daisy Floral and Gift Shoppe before it moved to a different storefront and eventually closed.

Traffic is being rerouted behind the buildings via Wombaugh St., Colwell St., and Valerio Pkwy to ensure public safety during the demolition process.
