BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK – Mayor Eric Adams has nominated Eric Landau for reappointment as President of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation. Following the recommendation from Mayor Adams, First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, and Deputy Mayor for Operations Meera Joshi, today the Brooklyn Bridge Park Board of Directors unanimously approved the reappointment.

As President of Brooklyn Bridge Park since April, 2017, Eric Landau has overseen the completion of the Park as originally designed. This includes:
- The construction and opening of the Pier 5 Uplands in June 2017
- The construction and opening of Pier 3 in July 2018
- The construction and opening of the Pier 2 Uplands in July 2020
- The construction and opening of Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in December 2021
- The completion, in 2022, of the critical maritime maintenance project, which preserves the park piers for generations
During his tenure, Landau has also overseen the re-design of the Park’s Greenway in 2018, the re-build and replacement of Squibb Bridge, and the replacement of the Pier 5 turf field, both in 2020. Landau led BBP through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when public space in NYC became a lifeline for millions of residents. Landau ensured the Park remained open throughout, guiding the organization through crisis and uncertainty while maintaining the highest standards of operation, health, and safety for all.

Landau brings a wealth of experience supporting the City’s parks, having previously served as a Vice President at the Prospect Park Alliance and as Deputy Commissioner overseeing public affairs and communications at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
